- Gaps letting water behind the bath

Bath resealing at your home in Birmingham
All the old mastic comes out first, since new sealant won’t stick to old silicone. For baths, we fill the bath with water before sealing, so the joint doesn’t tear when the bath is next used. Our technicians work on kitchen worktops & sinks, basins & vanity units and wet rooms, and common reasons people get in touch are messy, uneven old sealant and black mould in the sealant.
Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Run the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Do you need bath resealing in Birmingham?
Sealant doesn’t last forever. Every bath or shower adds moisture and soap residue, which mould feeds on, and the joint flexes each time the bath fills. Over time it splits, peels or turns black.
It’s worth getting a quote if you see:
- Black mould in the sealant
- Yellowed or stained mastic
- Sealant that has split or peeled
- Messy, uneven old sealant
What your quote should include
- How the room is protected while we work
- The length of the guarantee and what it covers
- A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
- When it can be used again
What a repair can’t fix
A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. We can’t fix:
- Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
- Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
- Loose tiles, which need refixing first
Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Birmingham questions
Will you leave a mess?
We cover the area with dust sheets and mask nearby surfaces first, and tidy up when we finish.
Should I repair or replace?
Usually, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.
When can I use it again after the repair?
Usually by the next day, depending on what we’ve done. We’ll confirm the exact time when we finish.
Can you seal over the old mastic?
No. It won’t bond properly, and any mould underneath carries on growing, so it all comes out first.
Do you work for landlords and businesses in Birmingham?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders, hotels and homeowners.
Do you come to Birmingham?
Yes. We cover the whole UK and travel to Birmingham. Send pictures and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Is the work guaranteed?
Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.
Why it’s worth resealing in Birmingham
Resealing is routine maintenance. Putting off a reseal lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

How it works
When we visit, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take around two hours. We clean up when we’re done and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
- Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
- We dry the joint thoroughly.
- Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
- We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.
Before we arrive
- Make sure the room can be ventilated
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
