Bath and shower resealing at your home, anywhere in the UK

Bath & shower resealing (mastic) without replacing anything

Sealant (often called mastic) keeps water out of the gap between a bath or tray and the wall. Once it splits or grows mould, water can get behind and damage walls and ceilings below. We remove the old sealant fully, clean and treat the joint, and apply a neat new bead.

We travel to you anywhere in the UK, and every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Send us a photo for a free, no-obligation quote.

How it works

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest when it’s sealed.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant sanitary silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including behind and around the taps.

Why we fill the bath first

A bath drops slightly when it’s full of water and a person. Sealing it while full stops the new bead from being stretched and torn the first time you use it.

Curing time

Don’t use the bath or shower until the sealant has cured. We’ll tell you how long the product we use needs, usually around 24 hours.

Send a photo for a free quote

Take a clear photo of the damage and one of the whole item, then send them with our quote form or call 0345 017 0787. We’ll tell you whether it can be repaired and give you a fixed price.

Why reseal now?

Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, where it can damage walls, floors and the ceiling below, which costs far more to put right.

What it costs

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material, and how many items we do on one visit. See prices.

What your quote should include

  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • What preparation is included
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • How long until you can use it again
  • How your room will be protected
  • Aftercare advice

Aftercare

Run the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Bath and shower resealing: common questions

Can you seal over the old mastic?

No. New sealant won’t bond properly to old silicone, and mould underneath keeps growing. We remove the old sealant completely first.

Why does my sealant keep going black?

Mould grows where the joint stays damp. Good ventilation and wiping the joint dry help. Read our guide to mould in sealant.

How long before I can shower?

Usually around 24 hours, depending on the sealant. We’ll confirm on the day.

Do you reseal kitchens as well?

Yes. We reseal kitchen worktops, upstands and sinks too.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids the cost and disruption of removal, plumbing and making good. If replacement would be better, we’ll tell you.

Do you charge for a quote?

No. Quotes are free and fixed, based on your photos.
