How to clean a stone resin shower tray

Gentle cleaning keeps the finish looking good for longer.

Everyday cleaning

  • Rinse the tray after showering and wipe it dry if you can.
  • Clean weekly with warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth or sponge.
  • Rinse well so no cleaner is left on the surface.

Limescale

Use a cleaner the tray’s maker says is suitable, follow the label and rinse thoroughly. Don’t leave descalers sitting on the surface for longer than the instructions say.

What to avoid

  • Scourers, abrasive creams and powders, which dull the surface
  • Strong solvents and harsh chemicals unless the maker approves them
  • Hair dye, which can stain
  • Dropping heavy bottles, which can chip the surface

When it stays dull or stained

If cleaning no longer works, the surface is worn. A tray resurface gives it a fresh, even finish without removing it.
