Advice

Can you change a coloured bathroom suite to white?

Yes. Here’s how resurfacing changes the colour, and what to think about first.

How it works

We clean and prepare the bath, basin or shower tray, repair any chips, apply a bonding primer and then spray a new white finish. Everything stays in place, so you keep your tiles and plumbing. See coloured suite resurfacing.

Why resurface rather than replace?

  • Coloured suites from the 1970s and 80s are often thick, sturdy and still sound.
  • No plumber, tiler or skip.
  • Usually done in a day or two, depending on how many items there are.

What about the toilet?

The inside of a toilet bowl is permanently wet and scrubbed, so it’s a harder place for any coating to last. Ask us and we’ll advise honestly before quoting.

Matching taps and accessories

Once the suite is white, old coloured accessories can look out of place. Many people change the toilet seat, bath panel and taps at the same time, which are easy swaps.
